A DAY IN THE LIFE OF J

We finally got some snow the other day - about 6 inches. It was really nice because not only did it make our yard look a lot better, but it blew the NASTY inversion out and cleaned up our air quality. Mike was outside shoveling the snow and Jameson wanted to help. He shoveled for a little while and then decided that maybe the snow needed a little mowing. All done - Nice and groomed.

Jameson has been informing us lately that he has 3 kitchens - the one he got for Christmas, the island in the kitchen, and one of the other kitchen counters. As you can see, he has found lots of "tools" to use in our "everything but the kitchen sink" drawer and is becoming quite the chef. I think in this picture he is using a zester, a potato cutter, a ravioli stamp, salt, a can opener, measuring spoons, a flashlight, a plastic shovel and a plastic hatchet. He is quite innovative.

ALL FINISHED

Jameson's new big boy room is finished, and I'm glad to say, he slept in there last night without much of a problem. The room is closer to the road, so is a bit louder and it was raining last night, which made the cars driving down the road a little bit louder, but he fell asleep easily. YAY.
Here's a picture looking at his shelf-o-books with new hooks that he can reach to hang up his jacket and school bag when he gets home from school (instead of throwing them on the floor). View of the dresser and super cool Browns Jersey.
Since there is no closet in this room, we bought an armoir. It holds some of his clothes, his shoes and a bunch of his toys.

The bed and printed wall.
The view as you enter the room - yep, that picture says his name - if you don't know the story, ask me sometime (thanks Autumn!!!). And that's the end of the tour.

PROGRESS

Another step in finishing Jameson's room was accomplished today. Our good friend Todd came over and put in a new shelf, framed in the window and put in the baseboards. The carpet is ordered and will be installed on Wednesday. Then all we have to do is assemble the armoir and dresser and move the furniture. YAY!!! The new window and baseboards.

In other news, last Friday we went to the Utes Parade to celebrate their Sugar Bowl Victory and the end of their PERFECT season. The new slogan for our year is "Quest Perfected 13-0". If you know anything about the BYU Utah rivalry, this will make sense. :) Here's Mike and Jameson in front of our friend's Ute Bus that we hang out at before every game. We were going to ride on it in the parade, but decided to watch from the side instead so we could see the whole thing.

Watching intently as fellow Ute fans drive by in their decked out Ute-mobiles.

Last but not least - the mighty Utah marching band - of course playing the Utah Man song (which Jameson is working very hard on perfecting!!!)

THE NEW ROOM

We've been a little busy around here turning our old office into Jameson's new "big boy" room. We had to move all of the furniture down to the new office in the basement. Thank goodness we have some good strong friends to help Mike, because I wasn't much help at all!!!
After all of the furniture was moved, we had to peel off the wallpaper. It reminded me again why I hate wallpaper, but after a few days, it was all off and Mike moved on to patching and sanding the walls. Jameson was excited for this part, because he got to help. Next came the painting. We did a tan color on 3 of the walls, and a dark red on 1 wall. Mike did a really good job, and Jameson even pitched in a little when he could. After all of the paint was done, Jameson and Mike pulled up the old dingy carpet.
We still need to get the baseboards, window trim and new carpet put in, but we decided to put up the wall art we've been waiting to put up for weeks. It took a little longer than we thought it would to get it on, but we are really happy with how it turned out. The red wall matches the picture almost perfectly and it really ties the room together.
Thanks to Jen and Mike for telling us about the fun art exhibit they visited that led us to finding this decal.
I'll add more pictures when the rest is finished. :) Until then, have a great day!!!
