WESTERN DAYS

It was Western Days at Jameson's school yesterday. We didn't have anything to wear, so I called up my friend Krista and borrowed a few things from her. As you can see Jameson was very excited to wear his vest, sheriff's badge and cowboy boots from his friend Jason. He looked so cute!!! Jameson has been having a bit of trouble sleeping lately, and we are trying to get him over that before the new baby comes. After trying lots of things, we headed to Build A Bear to see if maybe a new stuffed animal to protect him at night would help. Here he is putting a heart in "Firedog". Once he was all stuffed and sewn up, Jameson gave Firedog a bath. The first 2 nights, he seemed to help a bit, but last night was a little rough again. Hopefully he'll settle in and start sleeping well again SOON!!!Mike and I both have been trying to get Jameson up in the mountains a lot for hiking, bug watching and lizard chasing. We want him to love the mountains and all they offer just as much as we do. So, here he is sitting on a rock in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

OKTOBERFEST & SOCCER

Last weekend we headed up to Snowbird for the annual Oktoberfest celebration. It was an absolutely gorgeous day (as you can see), and we had a wonderful time. We took a fun ride up the tram to the very top to look around a bit. Here are Mike and Jameson looking out the window of the tram scoping out some good skiing for next year.At the top of the tram they had some Alpine Horn players. I wish I would have taken a video because they sounded AWESOME!!! At least you can see how cool they looked. After the tram ride, we ate some tasty German food. Jameson had a great time dancing the chicken dance with Laurie while we waited in line and playing musical chairs. After all that, Mike took him for a fun ride on the alpine slide. Jameson had a great time and was EXHAUSTED after. He fell asleep on the way home.Jameson also had his second soccer team. Luckily Grandma and Grandpa T were there and took pictures with their good camera. As you can see Jameson really likes to run and has a great time chasing his shadow. They don't keep score, which is a good thing because I think we lost by a lot. During one of the times he was subbed out, J sat down with Grandma and told her all about his team.
As you can see here, it is hard for Mike to keep the team's attention, but at least Jameson is still captivated by him!!!
More running...
Chasing the shadow.
And finally, another little video clip of the game. The little guy with curly blonde hair falling on the ground in front of the goal is Jameson. As you can tell, he likes to run and fall whenever possible. Also, notice the great cheering section we have in the background. It really is awesome.

MINI-ME

For all those of you who agree that Jameson is an exact replica of Mike, here is a little more proof. Mike is a little older than J in this picture, and his hair is a little straighter, but notice the hair twirling - could that possiby be genetic???

Good thing he got his dad's good looks!!! Hopefully our next little one will too!!

FOOTBALL & FUTBOL

As discussed in the previous post, we are HUGE U of U fans. Well, we had our first home football game Saturday, so we took Jameson along to celebrate the beginning of football season with us. It was super fun, and the Utes pulled off another win (after a horrendous performance in the first half!!) Just for fun, I thought it would be a good idea to replicate a picture we took last year with one from this year, so here is Jameson in the 1940-something fire engine last fall......and here he is 1 year later. What a difference 1 year makes!!!
Moving on to futbol, Jameson started his soccer league this evening. He plays in the 3 and 4 year old league, even though he's not quite 3 yet. He was so excited for it, and has been talking about it non-stop for the past month. Mike is his coach, and I'm not sure who was more excited for opening day!!! The team is yellow, and the uniforms are HUGE, but adorable. For those of you familiar with the term "swarm-ball", I'm sure you will enjoy this video. It's kind of far away, but the camera battery ran out before I could get a closer one. I'll try to get a better one at the next game. Until then, enjoy.

LEO THE LION

Jameson loves the lion mascot at the Real soccer games. Every game he looks for him and the lion has started to recognize him. He usually picks him out and stops by for a big hug or a high 5. At last nights game, he picked Jameson up for a photo-op and signed a players card for him. It was so cute!!!

WEEKEND FUN

Friday my friend Amanda and I took our kids to the fire station again for another tour. Jameson was much more excited to go this time (he cried the whole time last time and wouldn't go anywhere near the truck), and even climbed on the truck a few times. Here he is watching intently as the fireman tells them about all the stuff they have to wear to a fire. And here he is "driving the truck!!!" He even got to turn on the lights and honk the (VERY LOUD) horn. He was so excited.College football season has finally started, and for those of you who don't know we are HUGE U of U fans!!! So, Saturday we decked Jameson out in all his gear and headed to a friends house to watch them beat Michigan (GO UTES!!!). Don't mind Jameson's facial expression, he was eating something and this was the only moment I could get him to sit still enough to take a pic. And, don't worry mom and dad, I have already started teaching him the words to the fight song. He was walking around during the game playing a eukalele and singing "I am a Utah Man".
Today started out VERY rainy and VERY cold, but the weather finally cleared out and a created a pretty nice day. So, Jameson, Stout, and I decided to go for a hike. Jameson did very well, and he'll tell you he used his big muscles to get up the big mountain. It was a lot of fun and a nice break from sitting around the house.
