RSL

Soccer season has finally begun, YIPEE!!! Although Jameson and I didn't make the first half of the game (during nap time), we made it just in time for the start of the second half. We almost had the game in the bag, but the Chicago Fire pulled off a crazy goal during stopage time. GRRR!!! Jameson was just super happy to see Leo the Lion mascot. He spent the entire second half scanning the stadium for him, and once he spotted him, he watched only him the rest of the time. SO CUTE!!!

SUN & FUN

Mike had to head south to St. George this week for work, so Jameson and I gladly tagged along and soaked up some much needed warmth and sunshine. It was cold and snowy at home, so we were more than happy to be in the 80 degree weather!! We spent as much time in the pool as possible. Jameson will tell you he swam like a BIG fish. We also took a drive up to Snow Canyon. Jameson fell asleep on the way there, but woke up just in time to have a few pictures taken (as you can see, he wasn't quite awake yet).
Mike & I also made the mistake of entering a toy store with Jameson. After a lot of time, some tears and some bribery, we finally made our way out but not until after purchasing a bug house, a memory game and a little plastic set of golf clubs. These actually turned out to be some great purchases. Even though we were unable to find any bugs, we played some really fun games of memory and had a blast breaking in the new golf set - watch out Tiger Woods, Jameson may give you a run for your money one day!!

EASTER

The weather on Easter Sunday cooperated nicely and provided us with a BEAUTIFUL relatively warm sunny day. Jameson really wanted to play outside, so I took him to Wheeler Farm to see the animals and the tractors. Of course, the animals took second place to the very cool tractors, but he still had fun saying hello to all of them in their own native languages ("moo" to the cows, "da-da" to the roosters, "waa waa" to the ducks, etc.) He even got to pet a very cute and patient calf.

After the farm and a good nap, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Turpin's for the Easter festivities. We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed watching the kids find their baskets and eggs. Jameson was super excited when he realized Grandma got a car for him to ride around in. He wasn't so sure about hunting for eggs, though, and didn't want to get out of the car, so he decided to drive to each egg, rather than walk. This is best shown in the video below. Don't mind all the parent's talking - he needed a lot of encouragement, but finally humored us.

Ariana was an egg-hunting veteran, having participated in another hunt the previous day, so as you can see, she was not happy when Jameson insisted on going down the stairs first. She was quickly appeased, though, when she realized Jameson was not at all interested in competing for the eggs.

SKI DAY

Today was a BEAUTIFUL spring day, so we spent the morning at Solitude Ski Resort teaching Jameson to ski. Jameson got some cool new sunglasses to keep the glaring sun out of his eyes, and he actually agreed to wear them once we got outside and he realized how bright the sun was.
After a few shaky runs, Jameson started to get a hang of it, and we played a game of chase mom and dad. Notice the HUGE smile on his face as I help him ski down the hill to dad.
Walking up the hill after each run got a little tiring. Luckily for Jameson, Dad is big and strong - much better than the chair lift!!!
I finally remembered to hold the video camera the right direction, so here we have video evidence of our future ski master!!

PIZZA AND FISH

Wednesday night we had a yummy dinner of homemade pizza. Jameson gave us a glimpse into his future career choice of chef as he expertly rolled out the pizza dough and spread the sauce.
Later that evening Jameson and mommy settled down to do a little coloring. As you can see, J is so talented, he can color witgh his eyes closed!!

Thursday morning was rainy and cold, so Amanda and I decided to take the kids to the aquarium. It was spring break and a little crowded, but the kids had fun anyway. As you can see, Jameson has taken quite a liking to both sisters. :)

DADDY'S HOME!!!

Mike returned this morning from his last big work trip for a few months, and needless to say, Jameson was THRILLED!!!!! Last night before I put him to bed I told him that we were going to go pick up daddy in the morning. Of course, when he woke up this morning, the first thing he said was: "go pick up daddy?" We parked and went into the airport, and had to wait a bit because the flight was delayed. We stayed occupied going up and down the elevators and escalators and pointing out the colors on all of the "wootcases" (Jameson's pronunciation) going around the luggage carousels. I had planned on getting a video of Jameson running to Mike, but got caught up in the moment and forgot to record it. It was pretty cute none the less. He ran up to him saying "Hi dada, Hi dada....!!!!" with his arms extended. A woman waiting for a friend commented, "Awww, I remember when I used to get that from my kids!!!" It was a great reunion. Mike brought Jameson back a little football, and I did get a picture of that.
He had to wait to get it, though because the bags took FOREVER to get there. He did a pretty good job of being patient.

I also wanted to add a picture in here of Jameson in his wagon that "me hep bapa wagon to-deder" (Jameson helped grandpa put a new wagon together when they were here). He has had lots of fun having us pull him around the house in it with whatever toy he is currently toting around. THANKS Grandpa and Grandma. :)

ZIZZARD

Last night Jameson and I went to a friend of mine's house to hang out for the evening. Jameson was a little shy and cranky at first, but perked up almost instantly when their 3 year old Skyler brought out their leopard gecko. Jameson loved it. He even held it himself and squealed with delight. It was so cute.
After they played with the Gecko, Jameson said he wanted to go downstairs. I told him that Skyler was going down there and that he could go with him if he wanted. Very much to my surprise, he said "ok" and headed downstairs with Skyler.
Those of you who know Jameson know that he usually won't go downstairs at our house without Mike or I even if all the kids are playing down there, so needless to say, I was astonished and excited!!! They played down there for what felt like a long time (probably about 15 minutes) before Jameson came back up looking for me.
This morning, the gecko and Skyler were all he could talk about. Hopefully we'll be able to get back together with them soon to play!!!
PS. The pictures were taken with my phone while trying to get a 2 year old and a 3 year old to stand still while holding a lizzard, so they are a little fuzzy. If you squint your eyes they appear a little more in focus. :)

CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

We just got back from a fun day at the Children's Museum with our friends Amanda, Irelyn and Kennedy.

Jameson loves the cars and the balls and especially the helicopter. He had a little trouble understanding that the toys were there for everyone to use and that he had to share, but he waited patiently for his turn and then was very happy to drive the fire truck!!

After the museum we stopped at Big City Soup for lunch. Mmmmm. Thanks again, Amanda for a fun filled day!!!
Ithink we actually wore out all the kids and ourselves. Hopefully they will all take good, long naps. :)

FAMILY FUN

The nice weather has left us, and it has turned rainy. We decided to have a little family outing at the mall to ride the carousel and play on some toys. Jameson drove the ice cream truck and rode his favorite animal - the rooster - on the carousel. After the mall, we tried out a new lunch spot - Hagermann's - a sandwich place that was recommended to us by a few people. We highly recommend it to others as well!!!

PARADISE

Mike and I just reluctantly returned from 6 days in Maui. Thanks again to our moms and dads for staying here and taking care of Jameson for us. Before we get to the Maui pictures, here is a picture of Jameson and Grandma at the aquarium. We went to Hawaii for the wedding of our friends Laurie and Kramer. This is a picture after the ceremony of me telling them that a bird had pooped on my leg during the wedding. I think that is supposed to bring them good luck. :)

We got to spend some great times with our friends Tim, Stacey and Kirra from Alaska. The weather was BEAUTIFUL and it was the middle of whale season, so we saw hundreds of humpbacks (we'll have to wait to get the pics of the whales from Tim and Stacey).
We ate some AMAZING food. (Yes, that is delicious sashimi (raw Ahi tuna) and a creme brulee in a pineapple) YUMMY!!!!! We relaxed on the beach and played/snorkeled in the beautiful, crystal clear water.
Mike even tried out skim boarding!!!
